Eileen Sherwood and her sister Ruth move to New York from Ohio and meet a cast of zany characters, and find jobs and fall in love! All to the hit show tunes “Wonderful Town,” “Ohio,” “Darling Eileen,” “Quiet Girl,” and a dozen more. Directed by Tony Award winning Mary Zimmerman, this will be a highlight of the Chicago theatre season.
As a bonus, the Goodman Theatre will present free concerts of the music of Leonard Bernstein, during the run of the show.
“Wonderful Town” opened on Broadway in 1953 and won five Tony Awards. It starred Rosalind Russel and Edie Adams. A Broadway revival happened in 1993.
