Fitzgerald’s Night Club is known across the country for eclectic music acts. The American Music Festival brings together fifty acts presenting blues, rock, pop, zydeco, country and folk music over a four day span of time.
Headlined by such nationally known acts as Billy Joe Shaver, CJ Chenier, the Holmes Brothers, Pokey Lafarge, Jarekus Singleton, Robbie Fulks and many more, there will be three main stages, rain or shine.
Three highlighted performances feature the group The Split Squad, with guitarist Keith Streng of the Fleshtones, guitarist Eddie Munoz of the Plimsouls, bassist Michael Giblin of the Parallax Project and drummer Florian Barbier. There will be a tribute to the legendary Lowell George featuring the New Orleans Suspects, and a jam with Texas singer Joe Healy and the band Reckless Kelly.
Chef Tom Cimms weighs (no pun intended) in with classic American barbeque, Louisiana gumbo, jambalaya, and poor boy sandwiches. And, of course, Fitzgerald’s wide assortment of beers will be available.
