Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair when you take the family to the Garfield Park Conservatory Spring Flower Show, “Sun Showers,” in Chicago through May 10 and stay at the nearby and affordable Best Western Plus Chicago Hotel at Hillside!
You will forget winter ever existed when you enter the doors of the Garfield Park Conservatory! “Sun Showers” will be warm and inviting and full of color and flower perfume! (This writer inquired about living there but was politely told no.) “Sun Showers” is part of the grand reopening at Garfield Park Conservatory, which sustained damage in a massive 2013 hail storm.
See and smell: azaleas, camellias, daffodils, hyacinths, orchids, tulips and hydrangea! More than 200 yellow umbrellas hang from the glass ceiling at “Sun Showers,” signifying sun and rain and spring!
And, of course, your “Sun Showers” destination will take your family through prehistoric ferns, across waterfalls, and you will experience a botanic paradise where your children can play and learn!
