Maroon 5

If you’re feeling marooned by winter, come see Maroon 5, March 19 at the United Center, and stay at the nearby and affordable Best Western Plus Chicago Hotel at Hillside!

The winner of three Grammy Awards, four Billboard Music Awards and dubbed “World’s Best New Group” by the World Music Awards, Maroon 5 comes to Chicago for one night only. Opening acts include Canadian band MAJIC! and American singers Rozzi Crane and Mick Gardner.

Adam Levine’s high school band Kara’s Flowers couldn’t have known that a teenage garage project would turn into the musical juggernaut Maroon 5 whose first album, “Songs About Jane” consists of songs about Adam Levine breaking up with, uh, a girl named Jane. Maroon 5 has listed as influences Michael Jackson, The Police, Prince, Stevie Wonder and Billy Joel, among others. This shows in the band’s “retro” music style. Their latest albums, “Overexposed” and “V” show a darker side to its fans.

Speaking of overexposed, Adam Levine, in addition to being lead singer for Maroon 5, currently serves as a coach, judge and panelist for the hit TV show, “The Voice.” Other band members include Jessie Carmichael (lead guitar), Mickey Madden (bass), Matt Flynn (drums) and P.J. Morton (keyboards).

The United Center is located at 1901 West Madison Street in Chicago. For Maroon 5 tickets go online to maroon5chicago.com.
