In the late 70s, Joan Jett soloed with several notable artists including Paul Cook and Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols. She fronted for Cheap Trick, The Ramones, Van Halen and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts hit the road running with their 1982 hit album “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll,” which was on the Billboard Top 100 for months. The single was a critics’ favorite. It became #56 on the greatest rock songs of all time list, named by Billboard, and the song was inducted into the Grammys Hall of Fame. The band toured with Motorhead, Alice Cooper and Def Leppard.

A film about Joan Jett’s life, “The Runaways,” starred Kristen Stuart and Dakota Fanning, debuting in 2010. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts continue to tour and make television appearances. In 2015, the band toured with The Who.
