Put on your fancy athletic shoes and run in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon October 9, and stay at the nearby and affordable Best Western Plus Chicago Hotel at Hillside!

The Bank of America Chicago Marathon will host several thousand runners from all fifty states and many countries, and have start times for professionals, amateurs and even walkers! (Walkers note: the course closes in six and a half hours.) Along the route will be food (bananas) and water stations, as well as first aid. The race, which starts and finishes in Grant Park, serves as a qualifier for the 2017 Boston Marathon. Participants must be sixteen years of age or older.

On Friday and Saturday, the Abbot Health and Fitness expo at McCormick Place will be held. You must pick up your race packet at one of those events. The Post Race Party will be in Butler Field at Grant Park, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

There will be an inaugural 5K race on Saturday, a perfect warmup for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon.
