The Chicago Blues Festival began in 1984, with a tribute to the great Muddy Waters, who had died the year before. Since then, every blues legend you can name has performed there. Over the years, there have been many memorable spontaneous moments such as the time Chuck Berry appeared with Keith Richards and brought the house down with “Hey Hey the Blues are Alright.”

Grant Park is located at Jackson and Columbus just east of downtown. For a full schedule of Chicago Blues Festival events, go online to www.
