Friday’s lineup: Shemekia Copeland, Curtis Salgado, Lil’ Ed and the Blues Imperials, the Corky Seigel Band, Tommy Castro & The Painkillers, and many more! Saturday: Fred Wesley and the New JB’s, Irma Thomas, Wee Willie Walker and We R, Mississippi Gabe Carter, Tears & Drops Blues Band (from Germany), and many more. Sunday: Tribute to Otis Rush, featuring Eddy Clearwater, Lurrie Bell, Eddie Shaw, Jimmy Johnston, Ronny Earl, Diane Blue, and oh so many more!

The Chicago Blues Festival began in 1984, with a tribute to the great Muddy Waters, who had died the year before. Since then, every blues legend you can name has performed there. Over the years, there have been many memorable spontaneous moments such as the time Chuck Berry appeared with Keith Richards and brought the house down with “Hey Hey the Blues are Alright.”

Grant Park is located at Jackson and Columbus just east of downtown. For a full schedule of Chicago Blues Festival events, go online to www.https://www.everfest.com/e/chicago-blues-festival-chicago-il.
