Blues Fest Special a Fitzgerald’s

Blues Fest Special a Fitzgerald’s

Come to the Blues Fest Special at Fitzgerald’s Night Club June 10, and stay at the nearby and affordable Best Western Plus Chicago Hotel at Hillside!

The Blues Fest Special features blues and soul singer Nikki Hill, the Nick Moss Band, and the Jimmys. With tickets costing only 20 bucks, this will be a memorable evening of music in one of the best night clubs in the country.

Nikki Hill and her band have been on the road since the release of her new album “Heavy Hearts Hard Fist.” Hill has been described as “The Southern Fireball,” “The New Soul Sensation,” and the “New Queen of Rock and Roll. Her raw, “shouter” voice mixes rock and soul dynamics with the strength and honesty of blues shouters of the past. Her taste for music and performing is simply contagious.

Nick Moss picked up a bass while recovering from an athletic injury when he was a kid. Fans call his music mythical and mystical. He started as a side man to Buddy Scott’s Rib Tips, and Jimmy “Fast Fingers” Dawkins, and Willie “Big Eyes” Smith. Then he switched to guitar and toured with the great Jimmy Rogers. His double album “Play” received a BMA nomination and was placed in the 2010 critic’s poll as Decade’s Best Blues: 25 albums that Defined the Past Ten Years. His new album is “From the Root to the Fruit.”

The Jimmys open the night with keyboard and Hammond organ player Jimmy Voegeli fronting drums and a four-piece horn section from the Clyde Stubblefield Band. Their new album is “Hot Dish.”

Fitzgerald’s Night Club is located at 6615 West Roosevelt in Berwyn, a stone’s throw from historic Oak Park. For tickets, go online to and follow the prompts.
