Then she appeared in the film “Blues Brothers,” with Dan Ackroyd and John Belushi, and her fame spread around the world.

Aretha Franklin has won 18 Grammy Awards, and sold over 81 million albums worldwide. She was inducted into the rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. Rolling Stone Magazine named her one of the Top 100 music artists of all time. She has won a Kennedy Center honor, and a Presidential Medal of Honor, awarded by President Obama. There is a star in her honor in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
