The Zimmermans “The Last Waltz”

Rock your socks off at the spectacular The Zimmermans: Tribute to “The Last Waltz” concert at Fitzgerald’s Night Club November 11, and stay at the nearby and affordable Best Western Plus Chicago Hotel at Hillside!

It is hard to believe that one of the most famous concerts of all time, The Band’s The Last Waltz, took place forty years ago in 1976. Released two years later as a concert film by Martin Scorsese, the final show of the iconic folk rock band featured guest appearances by Bob Dylan (Bob Zimmerman), Neil Young, Paul Butterfield, Ringo Starr, Emmylou Harris, Joanie Mitchell, The Staples Singers, and many more.

The Zimmermans, a six-piece Bob Dylan Tribute band based in Boulder, Colorado, recreate the concert with two sets of unforgettable songs, including “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down,” and “Cripple Creek.” The band has been playing and singing Bob Dylan songs since 2006. You can go online to YouTube and hear samples of their tributes to Dylan. This is not a Dylan impression experience, but an interpretive one, with reverence for perhaps America’s greatest songwriter.

Fitzgerald’s Night Club is located at 6515 West Roosevelt Road in Berwyn. For tickets, call (708) 788-2118, or go online to http://www.ticketweb.com/venue/fitzgerald-s-berwyn-il/32814?pll= and follow the prompts.
