Brookfield Zoo GorillaEnjoy a Brookfield Zoo weekend getaway! Bring the family for spring fun as Brookfield Zoo offers some very special April events.

Ape Awareness Weekend, April 5-6, celebrates apes, their plight in the wild, and the need for their conservation. Join Brookfield Zoo staff for ape-related activities inside Tropic World and to help support ape conservation. Bring your old cell phones for recycling. Proceeds support ape conservation. Treat the kids to a visit with the Easter Bunny and his friends during an all-you-can eat buffet at Breakfast With The Bunny, April 12-13 and 19. Musical entertainment will make for a fun time for your entire family to enjoy. Sunday April 20 is Easter Champagne Brunch. Reservations are required for all food events. Limited seating. On Sunday April 27, Earth Day, Brookfield Zoo presents Party for the Planet. Special animal focus will be on the African Painted Dog, medium-size dogs with distinctively patterned coats that live on the savannah and in the open woodlands of central and southern Africa. You can see African Painted Dogs at Habitat Africa: The Savannah. African Painted Dogs are more endangered than elephants, rhinos and lions. Other activities include Eco Expo (recycling of old bicycles and electronics), professional kite flying demonstrations and songs by music-recycling band Green Thirteen. Kites will be available for purchase.
