Wilco at the Chicago Theatre

Come see Wilco at the Chicago Theatre February 22-26, and stay at the nearby and affordable Best Western Plus Chicago Hotel at Hillside!

Wilco, a homegrown Chicago alternative rock band, comes back to the Windy City for some amazing shows in one of the best concert venues you will ever experience! The band’s first album, “Yankee Hotel Foxtrot,” earned them a Wired Magazine Rave award and also a reputation for creating songs out of internal conflicts. The band has been nominated for six Grammy Awards and won two of them.

Wilco is not the kind of band whose songs you sing while you drive to work. Claiming diverse influences such as experimental composer John Cale and folk pioneer Woody Guthrie, the music fuses electronic music with alternative country and even classic rock. Their song “Less than You Think,” consisting of fifteen minutes of electronic noises, led band leader Jeff Tweedy to observe, “99% of our fans will hate this song.”

At its core, Wilco is heavily influenced by iconic bands and singer songwriters such as John Lennon, Neil Young and the Beach Boys.

The Chicago Theatre is located at 175 North State Street in the heart of the Loop. For tickets and show times, go online to https://www.chicago-theater.com/theaters/chicago-theater/wilco.php  and follow the prompts.
