U2 the Innocence and Experience Tour

You too can see U2 (and you can see U2 on You Tube) at the United Center July 2, and stay at the nearby and affordable Best Western Plus Chicago Hotel at Hillside!

U2’s new tour, Innocence and Experience arrives at Chicago’s United Center with a look back on the band’s origins in North Dublin, Ireland. There will not be an opening act band, as the two halves of the concert, Innocence and Experience, are like separate shows in and of themselves. Expect a tribute to their recently deceased and beloved manager, Dennis Sheehan.

If you have been off the planet for a few years, U2 is the Irish rock band of Bono, The Edge (he fell of the edge of the stage in Vancouver), Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. As the years have passed, the band has focused on sociopolitical themes. Their 1983 album, “The Joshua Tree,” brought them to the attention of Rolling Stone Magazine, which said the album took the Irish lads “from heroes to superstars.”

Two billion people saw U2 via satellite at the Live Aid concert for Ethiopia. Their song “Ordinary Love” was featured in the film “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom,” and won the 2014 Golden Globe Award for best song.

The United Center is located at 1901 West Madison Avenue in Chicago. For tickets, call (855) 350-7918 go online to: United.BoxOfficeTicketSales.com.
