Come to Chicago’s Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island to see the Tour de Fat festival featuring the fabulous Roots in concert July 29, and stay at the nearby and affordable Best Western Plus Chicago Hotel at Hillside!

The Tour de Fat festival, is filled with performers and special bands. There will be street musicians, circus performers, vaudeville acts, magicians, and mind-blowing provocateurs! The tour benefits local non-profit organizations, in this case West Town Bikes.

The Roots, in case you live on Mars, is the hip hop band that plays on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The band was founded at the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts. Questlove met Tariq Trotter, and the legend was born. Their breakthrough album, “Things Fall Apart,” peaked at Number 4 on the Billboard 200 Charts. The song track “You Got Me” won a Grammy Award.

The Roots appear in the movies “Dave Chapelle’s Block Party,” “Bamboozled,” and “Brooklyn Babylon.” They were featured on the album “True Love,” along with Willie Nelson, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Gwen Stephani, Bonny Raitt, and Keith Richards.

The Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island is located at 1300 South Lynn White Drive in Chicago.
