Tommy Castro and The Painkillers (bassist Randy McDonald, keyboardist Michael Emerson, drummer Bowen Brown) are legendary for their vocals and instrumental audacity. Their fourteen albums have all been great successes. Their newest album, “Method to My Madness,” features pure music, produced by Castro without special sound effects. Castro wrote ten of the twelve songs.

Tommy Castro began playing guitar at age ten. His heroes were Eric Clapton, Elvin Bishop, Mike Bloomfield and, of course the great B.B. King. His first band, the Tommy Castro Band, was the house band for the NBC show Comedy Showcase. Castro has won the B.B. King Entertainer of the Year Award, the highest award for blues music. His song “Hard Believer” won the International Song Competition.
