One Earth Film Festival

Show some love for your mother—Mother Earth, that is—at the One Earth Film Festival March 6-8, and stay at the nearby and affordable Best Western Plus Chicago Hotel at Hillside!

One Earth Film Festival is the premiere green film event in the Midwest, showing films by adults and youth on living on a sustainable planet. This is the perfect event for a family, to promote discussion and stewardship of the natural world. Last year’s festival saw over 2,000 people involved in the events.

Films will be shown in multiple venues, including nearby Oak Park at the Oak Park Public Library, The Lake Theater and several other sites. Films include: “Return of the River,” “Cowspiracy,” “Just for Kids,” “No Land No Food No Life,” and many others. There will post film discussions at each event.

Students from grades 3 though college may enter the Young Filmmaker’s Contest by contacting Sue Crothers at suecrothersgee@gmail.com! Cash prizes will be awarded to winning filmmakers and donations will be made in the winner’s names to green causes of their choice.

For the complete schedule of films and locations, go online to greencommunityconnections.org and follow the prompts. For tickets, go to oneearthfilmfest.org. You may view a sample of a previous youth film winner, “Let’s Talk About Water,” on the website.
