The production, originally a television special starring Julie Andrews as Cinderella, now revised for modern audiences, won nine 2013 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical and Best Book of a Musical. The revision depicts a stronger and more directed version of a girl encountering adversity, and a more realistic view of relationships.
